Baby it’s cold outside
....but the work continues!
TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) is a proven method of humanely managing outdoor cat populations. Spayed/neutered and vaccinated stray and feral cats can live long, healthy lives in the outdoors if TNR is performed.
Shadow Cats TNR is proud to have accomplished Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return of roughly 14,000 community cats from 2016 to 2026. We are able to help the cats despite the cold due to the dedication of caretakers and volunteer trappers, as well as the tremendous support we have from our veterinary partners.
If you are caring for a cat colony, remember that a sheltered spot out of wind and wet is most important during severe cold. Cats can survive without food for several days, and their fur coats keep them warm and dry if they have a safe spot in which to curl up. (But a bit of dry food is appreciated!)
