Adopt a Furry Family Member

Our Adoption process: Complete an Adoption Application here . (Please do not use auto-populate for contact information fields. Google Chrome is recommended.) Once your application is approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet to make sure you and the cat you are interested in adopting are a purrfect match. Once the right match has been found, you will meet with an Adoption Counselor, complete an adoption contract and then bring your new pet home.

Please note that all applications are reviewed and processed on a first to apply, first reviewed, best match basis. Once we have received your application, an adoption team member will begin processing your application with a background check and veterinarian reference check (please call ahead to your veterinarian to provide consent for your records to be reviewed by our organization). If you do not have any current pets and have not had any pets within the last five year references will be contacted (must be provided on your application). During this process, an adoption team member may contact you with additional questions pertaining to your application. Please allow up to one week to process your application as it takes time to review applications, leasing agreements, veterinary records and contact references.

Adoption Application Guidelines:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

• Applicants that are renting/leasing their residence must provide a copy of their personalized lease agreement. Lease agreements can be emailed to adopt@shadowcatstnr.org (preferably, this should be submitted at the same time as the adoption application).

• Please be sure to read the application in its entirety as incomplete applications will not be processed and will be denied. Applicants may reapply with a complete application.

• Please provide a valid/active email address on your application. Be sure to check your email, including your spam/junk folders for correspondences.

• If you change your mind about which cat you were interested in or are no longer interested in adopting, please email adopt@shadowcatstnr.org
